A destination-scale HV scheme.
Gigawatt Industries delivered high-power EV charging at Xscape Yorkshire in Castleford for RAW Charging, a major leisure destination drawing large volumes of visitors, and a charging load to match.
What we delivered.
The scheme was built around a new HV point of connection, with the civils and electrical infrastructure to support two HYC50 and six HYC150 DC chargers plus six 22kW AC units. The site was later upgraded with 300kW chargers as demand grew.
One of two flagship Xscape hubs Gigawatt delivered for RAW Charging, its sister site is at Xscape Milton Keynes.
Built for a busy public setting.
Delivering an HV connection and a large simultaneous charging load in a live, high-footfall destination demanded careful sequencing of the civils, substation and electrical works to keep the site open throughout.
