Groundworks for a solar farm.

Gigawatt Industries delivered the substation civils and groundworks package for the Littlewood Solar Farm at Tathall End near Milton Keynes, working for ICP Utilligence on a new ground-mounted solar generation scheme.

Drawing on our in-house groundworks capability, the team excavated the substation compound and built and installed the reinforced substation bases ready to receive the packaged transformer and switchgear.

Substation set-down and connection.

With the bases cured, the packaged substation was craned into position and set down. Our teams supported Utilligence through the cable pull, installed the earthing to the electrical design, and backfilled and reinstated the compound with Type 1 to leave a clean, finished substation among the solar rows.

Part of the clean-energy infrastructure Gigawatt delivers beyond EV charging, the groundworks that get renewable generation connected.
