About us

At Gigawatt Industries, we’re not just installing EV chargers, we’re helping build the future of transport. As one of the UK’s fastest-growing EV infrastructure specialists, we deliver large-scale commercial and industrial charging projects for some of the country’s biggest organisations. Demand is growing rapidly, so we’re expanding our teams and looking for talented, driven people who want to be part of something exciting.

The role

Gigawatt Industries is a fast-growing EV charging infrastructure company on a mission to power the UK’s transition to electric vehicles. As we scale, we’re looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to take full ownership of major opportunities, from first enquiry right through to a clean handover for delivery.

This is a genuinely broad, high-trust role. You’ll own the commercial and technical scope of every project you pick up, backed by estimating, design and AI-powered sales tools that help you move fast without losing control of the detail.

As Senior BD, you’ll be the single point of accountability for each live opportunity: qualifying it, shaping the concept, pricing it correctly, negotiating the quotation, steering the design interface, and carrying it through to a won order at target margin. You’ll combine commercial rigour with technical credibility and strong relationship-building, and you’ll own your pipeline and forecast end to end.

Key responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of each opportunity from enquiry to handover: qualification, concept, pricing, quotation, design interface, cost review, order and delivery transfer.
  • Scoping projects correctly and standing behind the cost model and margin, with a clear understanding of margin versus markup.
  • Qualifying opportunities technically, including running competent desktop site appraisals, and challenging design and cost where needed.
  • Driving qualified opportunities through to a won order at target margin.
  • Keeping your pipeline and forecast accurate and current.
  • Leading the design debrief and holding the commercial line as designs develop.
  • Owning cost reviews, securing client purchase orders, and leading a clean handover to the delivery team.
  • Running proactive prospecting to grow repeat business, and representing Gigawatt at meetings, on site, at events and on LinkedIn.
  • Working confidently with our AI-driven sales and quoting tools to move opportunities at pace.

Essential

  • Senior B2B sales experience in electrical, utility or construction infrastructure, with a solid network of relevant industry contacts.
  • Working knowledge of ICP and HV/LV connections, or a demonstrable ability to get up to speed quickly.
  • Strong commercial acumen: cost models, margin versus markup, competitiveness and risk.
  • Confidence qualifying opportunities and running a desktop survey.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, with strong commercial and contractual negotiation skills.
  • A self-starting, solution-oriented approach, with confidence adopting AI and digital tools.
  • Full UK driving licence, and comfortable with national travel and hybrid working.

What you'll get

  • £65,000 per annum.
  • 20 days’ annual holiday, rising by 1 day for each year of service (up to a maximum of 28 days after 8 years).
  • Hybrid working from our Doncaster HQ, with national travel as required.
  • The chance to play a genuinely senior, high-ownership role in a growing SME at the forefront of the UK’s EV infrastructure rollout.

Before you apply

A few quick questions to help us understand your fit. They’re optional, answer as many as you like and whatever you fill in is added to your application.

Do you have working knowledge of ICP and HV/LV connections?

Are you confident owning a cost model and defending margin versus markup?

Have you qualified opportunities by running a desktop site survey or appraisal?

Are you comfortable adopting AI and digital sales tools day to day?

Do you hold a full UK driving licence and are you comfortable with national travel and hybrid working from our Doncaster HQ?
