The role
Gigawatt Industries Ltd is a fast-growing company delivering EV charging and electrical infrastructure projects across the UK. We’re looking for a hands-on Civils / Groundworks Team Leader to lead a 3-person team carrying out trenching, ducting, concrete bases and reinstatement works on live sites nationwide.
You’ll take full responsibility on site, ensuring all works are completed safely, accurately and on time, while working closely with our Project Managers and delivery teams.
Accommodation, company vehicles and meal allowances are provided when working away.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a 3-person civils team on EV charging and electrical infrastructure projects.
- Supervise excavations, ducting, concrete plinths, kerbing and reinstatement.
- Read and work from construction drawings and utility plans, setting out works accurately.
- Ensure all jobs meet health, safety and quality standards.
- Keep daily records and report progress to the Project Manager.
- Carry out site briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure permits-to-dig and RAMS are followed.
- Operate plant and machinery when required (NPORS/CPCS preferred).
- Act as the main site contact for clients, inspectors and management.
Essential
- Valid CSCS card.
- CPCS or NPORS (plant operator tickets).
- SWQR (Street Works) qualification.
- Cat & Genny training.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- SSSTS or SMSTS.
- Experience supervising utility, groundworks or ICP projects.
- Prior experience on EV charging or electrical infrastructure sites.

You have proven experience leading civils or utilities teams.
You’re confident reading drawings and setting out small civil works.
You have a strong understanding of health & safety and site compliance.
You’re a positive communicator who motivates your team and delivers results.
You’re happy to travel and stay away when required (accommodation provided).
You’re reliable, organised, and proud of producing high-quality work.
